BWE's Outdoor School on the Banks of Shoal Creek

Bryker Woods Elementary School sits above a hill on the banks of Shoal Creek. Between the school and the creek there is a nature trail that leads the students to an "Outdoor School" created with limestone benches purchased from the district at a discounted price and created so that children can hike here, sit and reflect, and complete work in a natural setting.
Students visit the outdoor school approximately 2 times per week from kinder-6th grade. Academic lessons and social emotional (SEL) learning competencies are taught and practiced down here as well.
