Our students participated in Jump Rope for Heart this year from February
2nd - 13th during their PE class. We were thrilled to be supporting the American Heart Association and at the same time teach our students and families how to take care of their hearts through the Jump Rope for Heart program. Our students reached out to friends and family to collect donations. Over 60 students raised $1,686.00. The funds raised help to support the AHA's research and education programs that save lives in our community. Heart disease is the #1 killer of all Americans and more people die of heart disease than all forms of cancer combined. The American Heart Association is second only to the U.S. government in funding research in heart disease and stroke. Additionally, the school received a banner, a gift card for $100.00 for PE equipment and a free pass to Hurricane Harbor for students that raised more than $125.00. This is the first year we have participated in the Jump Rope for Heart program. Students had fun jumping and learning about heart health. We will definitely participate in this program next year!
