Making Paper

On Earth Day, 5th graders watched a brief video about the process of recycling paper.  They recycled paper for the school, as they usually do on Wednesdays. 

In Art class, the 5th graders learned how to use a blender to create paper pulp from newspaper strips.  They used hoops and screens to strain the pulp from a tub.  Then they pressed as much water out of the pulp as possible.  The home-made paper will air-dry in the Art room for a few days.
