Project Title: School Recycling Program
Student Council Recycling
By:
Wakeland High School's Student Council is in charge of recycling programs for the school. There are recycling bins in all classrooms and workrooms. Student Council students collect, consolidate and recycle classroom bins during 3rd period for the school. Batteries are collected in one math classroom and picked up by the city of Frisco by request. Plastic bags are recycled in the mailroom and also are picked up by the city by request. This year Student Council added recycle bins for drink containers in the hallways and recycle bins in the cafeteria. Our total recycle tonnage for the 2012-2013 school year was 22.15 tons. That's 22.15 tons of material that didn't go into landfills.![[image] WHS Recycling 2013 [image] WHS Recycling 2013](../activity/2242/1361256453.jpg)
